I approached Harrah's poker desk in Kansas City and found a $25 chip on the floor. I picked it up and I turned it into the poker room manager and told him it was laying on the floor. I asked if no one claimed it, if I would get to keep it. He wasn't sure and made a phone call. I went back to my poker table and took my seat.
Being the naive guy that I am, I hoped they would wait a bit to see if anyone claimed it and hoped they would eventually give it back to me later.
Wrong!
After a several minutes later, a security guard showed up with one of those big clear/acrylic chip carrying case/box (which was empty). He had them put that single chip in an empty chip rack, they put the rack in the empty chip toting box, and away he left. Poker dealer told me I should have just picked it up and kept it.
