Fred, in the old days a lot of places were called casinos that never had any gaming.
It was a common term used for many of the "Resorts" of their day.
This place in question never had chips or any kind of gaming that I'm aware of.
Later, the term "casino" was applied to gaming establishments,
but early on that term had nothing to do with gambling or what we think of as a casino today.
