My Dad always thought that the attack on 12/07/1941 was a stupid idea by the Japanese military. He agreed with the, "...we have awakened a sleeping giant..." comment.

That happened 2 years, 12 days before I was born and I had to hear about it most of my life. I used to wonder why no one remember August 8.

Having said that, I agree that VJ day should be remembered.
