Dear Fellow Chippers,

My Brother in Law lives in China. He is a US citizen. Last year he was standing too close to a flame on the ground. Suffering a rather bad burn, he just decided to keep it bandage with ointment from his bathroom medicine cabinet. After a week, he goes to his China doctor who says to him, not to worry and put this ointment and what ever u do...do not wash it or get it wet! Two weeks later, he can't stand the pain and smell. He goes to the China hospital. A doctor there tells him to put this different ointment on it and once again...Don't get it wet! My wife tells me about her sisters concern about her husbands leg.
I email his wife.....She tells me all of the above. I tell her to get him back to USA soil ASAP. Two days later he and her arrive in Hawaii. I pick them up at our airport. 20 minutes later I have driven them to the ER at my Hospital. A burn specialist greets us, along with two nurses. He cuts off the Chinese cotton bandages.....These are the photos I took. Not for the faint of heart, but thank goodness you can't smell it.
The burn specialist tells us....Another few days...blood poisoning would have set in and he would have had to cut off his ankle. Just to start with!!!!OMG!! He is kept in the ICU for a two weeks and they wash, scrub and sterilize his burn at least three times a day.

The moral of this horrific tale is...Get your ASS back to the USA for any injure or illness!!! ...God bless American Medical Doctors, care and treatments!!!!
