Who's Judy...? grin

Last fall my husband and I were in Reno. We bought some old plexiglasses from slot machines; there was one plexi that I thought was cool, but we didn't buy it (o.k. there were more than one, but this post deals with just one of them grin ).

I just love some of the casino "mascots"...including Last Chance Joe. The plexi that we didn't buy last fall has Last Chance Joe on it. We just returned from a trip to Nevada, and the same slot plexi was in the same case in the antique shop. I still liked it, but my husband still had the same question "Who's Judy?" I told him I didn't care who Judy was...I still liked/wanted the plexi. As usual, he humored me grin .

So...I googled, and found Dick Graves oral history on the UNR website. Judy was Dick's daughter, born on May 10, 1945. Dick thought it was important to have little personal touches in his casinos. Judy had a recipe for a chocolate cake roll that everyone loved; it was on the menu for many years as "Judy's Chocolate Roll". I have to believe that "Judy's Special" slot machine was another personal touch at the Nugget. grin

Here's the oral history if you want to read it... grin
