there used to be commercials on the local top 40 station for another nearby drag strip:

"Sunday! Fun day at beautiful US 40 drag strip"

During the week we used to hang out at a strip mall parking lot, like American Graffiti
There were about 17 Chevys, 2 Fords and my 64 Buick Special convertible.
There was also 1 Saab and a Lark with a big V8 that had "Chicken Hawk" painted on the side.

Before the convertible, I had a 51 Chevy that came from the factory with no radio. I listened to WLS Chicago on a transistor radio hanging from my rear view mirror.

MP3's and iPods still blow my mind when I remember those days.
