The Maple Club was run by Ike Hyam's son Albert in a house directly behind Ike's Valley Cigar Store. Both building's still stand.
This was an effort to expand Ike's gambling operations at the Valley... to a night club that ran later and featured a full bar.
Of course, the Police station was directly across the street, but there was minimal interference from the police. The Ohio Liquor Control
Board pulled the Maple club's license in 1949 ending that operation, but not Ike's book at the Valley Cigar.
