Why I never bought into the bus token theory...
1) The would not have been approved for gaming by the GCB as they do not have a location, by the 1980's the GCB required locations on new chips - they did make an exception for the Mirage when it opened (made the papers back then). See #2
2) If they were to be used at the tables they would have a numeral and say "No Cash Value".
3) Same goes for slots - there would be more writing
4) I rule them out as a drink token also because it would have to say good for a free drink.
So how were they used with a bus promotion? The bus promotion theory has be passed around for the last 20+ years and with time it became fact. That is why I always suspected they were used for something else - my theory was always a gift shop item. I could be wrong. But the recent ebay listing makes my theory much better.
