I preferred the the Epson V30 over my HP...technically. I use both for different reasons, now I have an idea why. Thanks for the info, and could you tell me, the short version of where and how you photograph chips standing on edge. I have finally mastered Charles Kaplan's version of chip scanning, with my photoscape download. And BTW how did fare getting home from the convention with those little satchel briefcases you were carrying...lol. Reggie
