Las Vegas Club has common ownership with the remodeled Plaza. They are sacrificing the LV Club (no rooms, no restaurants, barely a gaming floor) to drive business to the Plaza, where they have more at stake. LV Club on the "death watch" list, or at least in a coma.
Of course, Binion's has closed all its rooms too, so it's iffy as well. The casino floor still gets some business, but it's financial condition can't be pretty.
If the Downtown Grand project (former Lady Luck) does open later this year, it will draw visitors and room-nights from the older properties downtown, at least for a while. Overall, I wish downtown success for sentimental reasons, but the economics look tough.
I did notice that Downtown Grand now has a website. Taking sign-ups for its "My Points" players card program, and accepting job apps, but no reservations yet. We shall see....
