I was thinking of something that denotes what we are trying to accomplish as a Club, rather than what we do or how we have fun at it.
"Preserving Gaming History" is of course a phrase along that line, but I believe that 95% of the populace thinks of games played on a digital device when they hear "Gaming", rather than "Gambling", which is really the adjective for what we try to preserve.
"Preserving Casino History" is another possibility, but because so much interest is devoted to pre-casino unlicensed gambling, it doesn't quite do it either.
Ben Franklin's quote is pretty good, and about as general as you can get. Covers a much broader concept though, as applies to anything that archaeologists or museums try to accomplish. Another way to say it would be "Keeping Gambling History Alive". We "fan the embers..." every day on the bulletin board, and with every book and article done on the subject.
