For those that haven't already figured it out, David Sarles and I purchased the 40,000 chip Chipco sample collection.
It will be a major to task to prepare this for sale, given that we have decided to ensure no items are sold without having first been scanned, and ultimately an entire copy of the collection will appear on the Preserving Gaming History website.
We don't take delivery of the chips for another few days yet, and it might surprise you to learn we don't actually know what is in it
We understand that it comprises a notched example (as issued - ie NOT with chipco backs) of every chip Chipco ever made, so that would include all casino issues, personals, advertising chips, poker sets etc.
It will of course be a huge task to work on, which I expect is going to take a year or so to get through. We do expect to have the first items available at our Convention table next week.
