Again, congratulations to Gene for 200 postings of Illegal of the Day. There is a treasure trove of information and new chip attributions there. What fun it has been reading those posts over the years.

I just wanted to remind anyone interested that Gene and I will be doing another "Illegal Seminar of the Year" at this year's convention. We are scheduled to talk on Friday afternoon, 3pm in the Sonoma A Room outside the bourse floor.

I've been asked privately a few times what we will be talking about (and I think we FINALLY figured it out) so I thought I would go ahead and give a teaser here. I'm finishing up the Powerpoint now and have a good idea where it is going.

Part 1: Newport, Kentucky
Newport is the poster child of a lawless city. We will briefly go through the high and low points in the city's history as mobsters, politicians and gamblers all battle each other for control of this lucrative town. It's a tale of murder, corruption and ultimate redemption, illustrated with gambling collectibles and personalized by someone who lived through part of it.

Part 2: Researching Illegal Clubs
We give some tips and illustrations on how to start researching illegal gambling clubs. I've compiled tips from the "Friend of the Hobby" and others to show how you can get started finding out about your unknown chips and clubs.

We'll finish with Q&A and maybe have a give-away or two.
