I would not try the chemical to melt to plastic or it will get on the token and perhaps wreck it. Splitting it again at 90 degrees from the other blow may do it. Is there any plastic stuck to the exposed token surface? If not you may be really lucky and get a good token out of this. Just don't do anything to damage it mechanically.
