Usually marked silver on one of the faces

Here is a scan of the other side of that token.

Sometimes they state STERLING (mostly the FM tokens) but usually the fineness and actual silver weight is marked.

There were lots of $25 Nevada tokens made in silver back when it was cheaper and the coin rejectors required a silver surface to detect good tokens. $100's had to be gold surface.
