I was at an antique mall near Springfield, IL yesterday and one of the cases had 3 chips that I thought were somewhat interesting. They were all the same - a black $20.00 chip for Log Cabin, attributed by the seller to the Log Cabin Inn from Benld, IL. They had a photocopy of a business card from the motel with it. I tried doing some quick research before buying one and couldn't find anything. Since it was $15 for each one, I thought I'd hold off and do a little more digging before I got one or all.
I tried pulling up the Illegal/Manufacturing records from the CC>CC but when I tried to open the file, all I see is "PROPERTY OF MARLOW CASINO CHIPS" so I'm unable to do any further digging. Hence - the request for help.
Here's what I do have on the chip. Black chip, HUB mold, gold hot stamp with $20.00 denomination in the center with LOG at the top and CABIN at the bottom. No reference to Log Cabin Inn or city as most Illegals didn't. Both sides were the same.
Can anyone help provide a little insight? And also, if there is interest let me know - I'll go get the three of em (keep one for myself & sell the other two) if you guys feel that the $15 is a decent price for them.
Thanks!
