say, but sometimes certain topics just hit a nerve.
Most if not all that make suggestions have only good intension's. The problem is that a lot of times, they have no understanding of costs, regulations or liabilities.
If people really knew how much time, effort, and costs go into putting on a convention of this size they would be shocked. As many hours as the Chairmen, and BOD put into it, we would still be lost without the efforts of nearly 100 volunteers.
Believe me when I say the BOD has the same items on the top of every list each and every year. That's promoting the club AND the hobby, Giving our members the most we can, and continuously improving the club.
There isn't one of us either past or present that doesn't have the best interest of the club in mind.
Now if we could just find a rich benefactor to donate a Million or two to the club things would be a lot different. But until that happens, we just cant do a lot of the stuff people suggest.
The last thing we want to do is raise membership dues, but keep in mind that for each $30 membership we bring in, the club pays $25+ just for the magazine. We have to rely on fundraiser's like the raffle, auction and others just to keep us in the black.
Once again the BOD takes ALL suggestions seriously and all will be discussed. just because we don't adopt an idea doesn't mean its not a good one, nor should it stop anyone from making further suggestions. We are always completely open to suggestions on improving the club, the hobby and the chipping experience.
Please no more suggestions about advertising on the Goodyear blimp though.
