In my opinion, ebay is a great place to buy chips. You can find incredible deals but you have to be patient. If you see an listing that is too high....move on.
Buying 1 chip at a time will cost you. Here are some suggestions:
- Buy lots. Run a search for "chip lot" and see what you find. Often times, you can cherry pick the few that you want for your collection and sell the rest.
- Use combined shipping to your advantage. If you buy a chip from somone, automatically check their other auctions. Even if they don't advertise combined shipping, most will do it for you.
- Search for misspelled or erroneously listed auctions. Some of my best deals came from "Los Vegas, Las Vagas & Rino".
- Save multiple searches for a variety of combinations. Also you should occassional look at very generic searches. For example "Vegas Chip". Don'e use any other category or search words. You'll be amazed at how many people list chips under non-casino categories.
- Most Importantly STAY PATIENT. I have passed on or been outbid thousands of times. The chip you want....at the price you want it will be there. Don't be afraid to let one go.
