your going to be way off. ebay is a dumping ground for most. lot of sellers dont even use the picture of the actual chip. Im a retail seller. I cant sell ne LEs for below face value as many go. Many sell them for $1 or $2 over face. They are paying the buyer to take them. Thats just crazy and many do it over and over again.... Why???? no idea.
Also a chip might sell cheap one week. then the next one sells for 5 times that the next week. Most auctions are a week. not everyone can see all those auctions. Some list it bad and no one see's it and sells for nothing... 10K plus chips always on there... No way to keep track. a chip is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Now sure why those guys even bother to make the guide... They are not making any $ out of it... maybe losing money? Not to mention all the crazy hours that go in it.
Back to LEs some are better then others. Most always stay common and retail $8-$10 Sure you might get some for $.99 on eBay. Is that what its worth? You can cash it for $5. It takes time and money to get the chip... whats that worth? House chips... Older House chips are coming down in price. bad economy and older collectors selling their collections... makes then easier to get and less people bidding.
Bottom line. a chip is only worth what someone is willing to pay. One will always pay more then the next. Depends how bad them want it!
