Gold Spike and Fremont were just two of my favorite places to gamble at and get stupid on rum&cokes (the rum&cokes didn't help the gambling though). The LVC was a nice pit-stop when running between the California/Main Street and Fremont, especially when trying to ditch some of the more annoying members of your party.
