Smitty, you wanted to know what happened with the props. One interesting thing is that they BOUGHT the stuff, didn't want to rent. They have big new studios, etc, at "Steiner Studios" (in the old Brooklyn Navy yard, near where I live) where they film HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" (about the mob in Atlantic City; I never saw the show). They wanted stuff that looked about 1924. At first they wanted my 1000 Lyre inlaid poker chips, but ended up buying my 1100 Dotted Circle inlaid chips. I got a finders fee for helping them get 1000's of simulated Chipco-like scrimshawed ivory chips, and I sold them two wood racks, and 14 decks of playing cards that they would touch up the boxes (cases) to look 1924. A fun neat thing I did was take an old playing card tax stamp from the Internet and resize it to go on the new decks of cards. I'm not sure which chips they will use now, but they bought what I said. They said they would put stickers on one side of the "ivory" chips to hide the "1848 California" inscription. Pictures below.
