I went down for my annual License plate collectors meet down to the Palace Station (in Vegas), and on the way I spent the night at the Virgin River Casino, and stopped by the Eureka casino to play some poker - got cleaned out, but before I did.. I managed to do a little smooth talking to the boss there, and got one of there drop chips!
Next day on to Vegas!
Then after selling off several license plates in our parking-lot pre-meet event, I moved into the meeting room where we had our event. I then sold a few more plates (and was saving this money of course for the poker room there), then finished up and went to the buffet. It was pretty good actually! I usually don't have any high expectations for anything relating to a buffet at all, but I was pleasantly surprised. Then after that, on to the poker room!
The first night playing, I lost about $85 so for a 2-4 limit table, I guess that's not to horribly bad.
The second night - I only lost about $40 at the tables, however that's when I got more friendly with the dealers & the poker room boss. I'd chatted with them a bit saying that I like to collect the chips as souvenirs and if they might happen to have a few of the limited edition ones. So, he went digging into their stacks, and came up with quite a few beauties!
First was the $1 oldies (Corvette) chip which typically you don't see many LE chips that are $1 denomination. So, I really appreciated that one. Next, he found me the $5 30-year anniversary chip. My appreciation grew significantly for the staff there after that. Next however was really cool - All of these 2002 'The seniors X world Championship of poker' LE chips! He started digging, and found two then after all the digging came up with three more!
My mood was really great then with my new found treasures! I didn't stop there though.. after I'd played my button, I then walked down to the cashiers cage in hopes of finding another one of the $1 oldies chips. Instead - the cashier cage boss there said "sorry, we don't have any of those, but would you be interested in the Chinese New year chip?"!! Would I??!!! You bet.. so then he said to me ".. well, which one would you like the snake or the dragon" And, of course I said I'll take both!
And, that was my trip.
I checked the chip guide just before submitting this, and it looks like those World Championship poker chips aren't there in the listing - so I'll probably submit them.
Anyone have any idea the value of the $4 Eureka drop-chip??
Thanks
