Personally, I think that airtites are very safe, but they have the disadvantage of taking up so much room and are not as cheap as flips. I like the PVC brittle flips. Yes, they break apart with contnued handling but are relatively inexpensive to replace. Several collectors I know purposely break them at the fold, effectively wind up getting two for the price of one.
