There is NO such thing as SAFE plastic ~~~

~~~ for any type 'clay/plastic composition' chips; the more oil, water, face cream and nail polish collectors apply ["and allow to dry" -- Yeah. Right] the more damage they will see with their chip in years to come when kept in contact with any plasticizer... and very, very few collectors who have damaged their chips over a 15-20 year period will admit it... sad

I've seen chips worth thousands of dollars trade hands at shows w/o even first inspecting the chip out of the Mylar holder... Yet, well-informed persons have come to this message board and explained the whole 'breakdown' process and wrote easy-to-understand articles in The Numistmatist (and followed up in our magazine w/ "...ALERT" articles via COIN WORLD); and yet the plastic-to-chip contact continues...
