We have been to Deadwood twice. First time we stayed at the Franklin Hotel. The rooms were old fashioned but had AC, TV, etc.
Since our stay they have updated the Hotel lobby, don't know about the rooms.

The second time we stayed at Deadwood Dick's. Deadwood Dick's is an antique mall in an old warehouse. The rooms are up stairs and
we had to go thru the warehouse and take the freight elevator to our room. Unique experience, rooms were comfrontable but this place may not be what you are looking for.

If you stay at the Franklin the Silverado is just across the street and we ate there several times. Think the Franklin and Silverado are jointly owned now.

Plenty of places to get chips. I especially like the Cadillac Jack's two dollar poker chip (Al Capones pix on one side).
We enjoyed playing poker at Saloon #10, but stay from Ace's & 8's and do not sit with your back to the door.
