This weekend, I found 2 dice, drilled and strung together on a keychain, with the name "Brighton" on the number 2 sides:
I found them on Long Island, so my first thought was that they might be from Atlantic City. They seem old, but do not seem like dice used by recent casinos on craps tables, so I imagine they were sold in a gift store as a keychain. A search on the internet for Brighton dice only turned up one ebay auction. The dice looked exactly like mine and they attributed them to the Brighton Casino in Atlantic City, but I don't put much stock in that. Is anyone familiar with them, or have any theories as to where they are from, what they might have been made for? Were there any well known illegal joints called the Brighton?
Value I am sure is low, but I didn't pay much, so I don't really care. They are nice, old looking dice. The drill holes are small and close to the corners (different sides for each dice so you can look at the words Brighton on both at the same time.
Kinda cool, in any case.
