The last time I went to Venice it was in August. I booked a hotel on Lido Island so I could walk to the Casino. After I checked in and unpacked I asked the clerk how far to the Casino. He informed me that it hadn't been open in 5 years! But it was only a short ferry ride to the main Casino.
