It's hard to get around Venice after dark, and there are not really that many places open after the cruise tenders head back to their ships. Seems the people just take the early ferries home since not that many people live in Venice proper. Now, the casino is a different situation. After dark, they are a little picky about a coat. However, like Monaco, if you don't have one, they have plenty in the coat room. Be prepared to pay an entrance fee. It varies. Most of the junk shops close in the city center, but the nicer restaurants are open and getting a water taxi back to your ship seems to get more expensive depending on the lateness of night. Hope this helps those going. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice city. Has some realy nice historical places to visit, but it will take a lot of walking to see it all during daylight since most ships don't dock until noon or early afternoon. Very friendly people, English spoken everywhere and be prepared to pay the tourist price just for the night-time experience. It was worth every penny.
