Cal Neva Totem Pole: Before/After

While looking through some photos from my trips to Lake Tahoe I came cross two photos I took a couple of years apart.

The Before photo was of someone carving a Totem Pole near the driveway entrance to Cal Neva Lodge.

I've combined the two photos I took two years apart:

I visited Cal Neva in 2004 but forgot to take a photo of the progress. I wonder how long it took to carve the entire tree.

As a side note: Frank Steward, I miss your LAKE TAHOE - "Set of the Day" posts.
