ahhhhh.... I am not ready to buy McAfee named the strip. In fact, I don't buy it. There is no, well "proof." His wife told a reporter he once said out there on "the strip." When is he supposed to have named it the strip. It is a nice little package...from Sunset Strip to Las Vegas Strip with the McAfee linked to both. What I would like to uncover is; when he first came to Las Vegas in late 1930, early 1931, who was he connected to? The suspects range from the Cornero's to Ma Morris, at the Red Rooster who let Moe Goldie, a known McAfee associated get the night clubs first gamblng license. or Nola Hahn, or Harvey Bynum who ran the gambling at the Pair O' Dice. Lots of pieces of the puzzle. And what did he buy when he came back to town in 1939? The Pair O' Dice (Ambassador).
