No need to apologize...I just love the stories from old Nevada, and downtown Las Vegas is my favorite. Every now and then it's fun to write about it, to try to get others interested in it. Living in Michigan, my access to historical facts is pretty much limited to some books, a few dozen old Nevada phone books...and Google! I was excited when you came to the chipboard...a real researcher, who has access to real facts!!!

As for the Red Rooster matchbook...manu mark sez STAR MATCH CO ST. LOUIS, MO. I won't say this cover will never be in your collection...but for now, it isn't for sale. We once bought an ashtray for $8, and sold it for $500. I was having seller's remorse before we even got it to the post office. We collect the stuff because we love it...
