After being accused of making up the fact the Red Roosters received a gaming license in 1931 quoting from records that had been destroyed, here is the document in question. I made this copy from the microfilm in the clerk’s office of the Clark County Commission. It is quite an interesting document as it lists in some cases the make and model of the slot machines. What I also found interesting is that Moe Goldie got the license for the Rooster, at the same time he was working for the Cornero brothers at the Meadows. One other point, I was also accused of making up the newspaper citation. Yes, in 1931 the newspaper was in fact called the Las Vegas Evening Review-Journal. Yes, the Red Rooster got a gaming licnese in 1931, and it lost it 3 months later after being busted for selling 'booze.' This is my first week on this site, looks active and fun, I'll be back.
