It was first issued at the Sahara-Dunes card room in Lake Elsinore in the early 70"s then the card room had new owners in the early 90's and re-named the casino Lake Elsinor, located in the same building. Today, they still use the .50 chips with Sahara-Dunes name. They are used at the 3-card poker table for paying commision, only one table. All are very worn, I have a dozen, and not really worth more than .50, as they are re-deemable. I have played many times at both the old card room and the new room. The old card room was actually in two buildings, and was very busy. The only gaming with in 50 miles. Both card clubs had and have motel type rooms.and good food. Today, about 15-20 poker tables, 2 black jack, and one 3-card poker table. Some very good poker players play thier, as Joel B. will agree.
