Well, I've been waiting for Tucson Smitty to post about these, but I'm not going to wait any longer.
Smitty found these at Spinetti's and we stopped by on the way back to Tucson to pick up a few more.
These are ASM, pre-compression chips. Very rough and rather warped. I believe the next step is to place these into the compression molds (cups) and with heat and pressure, incuse a mold pattern and cross-hatching, or make a center depression for paper inlays to be added later in a separate step.
These are guesses as to the exact process, but these sure make neat additions to my manufacturer samples!
