I have been fortunate enough to arrange the sale of two of these tokens, one on eBay and one privately. In the next month or two I will be selling another. The one that just sold was not mine. The tokens weight and calculations of value are such that there is $875.00 worth of gold at the recent gold prices. 10k is 42% gold against a weight of 1.25 ounces, you do the math.
The tokens were given during a 1986 baccarat tournament at Caesars Palace. The original, so I have been told, quantity was 400. Of that 400 there are purportedly less than 10 known to have survived. There was an attempt some time ago to sell 2 damaged ones that came to a no sale. There was one person who tried to sell theirs for several thousands of dollars and it didn't sell. They‘re numbered, they are really striking and the one I am going to sell in a couple of months is till inside its plastic bag unopened! They were originally to be mounted after awarding in a plaque with info about the tournament. The ones that I have and have sold were never mounted.
