The reason the Life Member fees were re-evaluated was that we were facing a potential major problem.
Annual dues barely cover the costs of the magazine. The more Life Members we have the greater risk that many of them will be receiving the magazine long after the 15 years (Some of our members have been in the club 25 years).
There was a serious concern about what would happen to the finances with a large percentage of life members, 10 years down the line.
Therefore we re-evaluated the fee structure and used the ANA program at the time as a guideline.
This was voted on by the membership and enacted into the Club Constitution.
On the flip side, we have also enacted a discount membership policy for multi year renewals which has had a great positive impact on keeping members.
