who post on this board. They were club members, but did not start the tournament on behalf of the club or as a club function. They ran it completely on their own, entirely separately from the club. They chose what to call it and who to include. They chose to limit it to club members. You can ask them why.
Some have chosen to limit contests in order to add incentive to becoming a club member. One of the people who started and organized the tournaments in the beginning regularly limited his chip board contests to club members. Perhaps this was a factor in setting up the weekly poker tournaments that way. I don't know. Anyone else is free to organize their own poker tournaments and may include and exclude whoever they wish.
Does that make it any clearer? I tried, but really don't know.
