I no longer hunt, but I did enjoy it. When I used to goose hunt, there were occasions I could have used an anti-aircraft gun to reach them. 
The guns I have are of three types, 1) guns I used for hunting and still own, 2) guns I have collected and use for enjoyment (hobby), 3) and a couple of personal protection guns I carry when I feel the need.
As I said I no longer hunt, but I do still love to shoot. I ONLY shoot at gun ranges, and one of MY guns falling into the hands of a criminal? NOT LIKELY! My guns are ALWAYS UNDER MY CONTROL, I amke sure of that (I amd REQUIRED to).
