prices that make me scratch my head, too. I just think it's up to everyone to decide how much to sell their stuff for. If the price is bad, I avoid it. If it's truly gouging (say $20 for a new $1 chip), I think it's a good thing for people on the board to alert everyone else on the board to avoid people making bad decisions. I often write sellers about ebay auctions when I think they are being untruthful, misinformed or deceptive. I see no problem warning people about unfair pricing, even if made on the board.

On the flip side, I think it's sad how low many people are selling their chips for these days. One person desperate to sell off their collection leads to an expectation of that price for everyone. Now, $3 for an obsolete common $1 chip won't even come close to selling. When I started, it seemed $3 for $1 chips was accepted, because of the time, gas, effort, packaging, etc. it took to obtain and send the chip, plus actual postage costs. If obsolete, most chips bumped up to $4. $4 for $2.50 chips, $7.50 for $5 chips. It was reasonable. Now, because people want to sell quickly, it is sale at face or maybe face plus 25 cents, 50 cents or a dollar. It's a great time to be a buyer, but sad for all of the people who paid so much more for their chips and would like to reduce or sell their collections.
