Have you seen a matchbbok from the Rendezvous in Las Vegas, the one on Highway 91, not the one on Ogden? I had not, until fellow collector Scott Ray in Oregon auctioned this one on ebay last week.

It raises several interesting questions:

Who was Al?

Is that Al on the TV screen?

Was this a motel with an associated "Club Rendezvous" for gambling?

Did they call Highway 91 "The Strip" in the 1950's ?

What kind of phone number is 5111 M; a party line, maybe, shared by the motel and "Club"?

Do you have this or any other match from this place?

According to TGT, The Rendezvous was open from 1954-64. I don't recall ever seeing it although I did visit Las Vegas a few times in the sixties when I lived in Phoenix.
