Re: First, I'd remove...
In Response To: Downtown Las Vegas.... ()

the Jolly Trolley (2440 Las Vegas Blvd. South...the strip)

Then...define "downtown":
personally I wouldn't include the Showboat and the Castaways (2800 East Fremont Street is a few miles out...not what I'd consider "downtown"...but I have a crappy sense of geography... sad ) grin

again, my opinion...I wouldn't include the Moulin Rouge (900 West Bonanza)...while it's only about a mile from the Plaza, it's closer to the Westside that it is to downtown

Then...define "casinos":

Are you including slot joints? Only full casinos? Only places with known chips??

going with chips...add the following places:

Sal Sagev

Golden Goose

Las Vegas Club (the first one) located at 21-23 E. Fremont from 1931-1949

Glitter Gulch Casino

Golden Slot Club

Jenny V's Casino

Santa Anita Turf Club

Big 4 Club

Apache Casino

Pioneer Hotel

Silver Star (217 N 3rd St; 1984-1984)

Holiday International

Nevada Biltmore

Reel Deal Casino

Shamrock Hotel

There are probably more that I didn't catch... grin

If you want to include Slot joints (there may be some on this list that had table games, too...I'm guessing here....):

Lucky 13 Club

Buckley's

Mecca Slots

Fortune Club, Cecil Lynch's (22 E. Fremont; 1958-1966)

Goldie's (or Goldy's) Casino

Mr. Reed's Casino

Slot Machine Arcade

Fremont Arcade (a/k/a Arcade)

Lucky Strike Club

Playland Arcade

Silver Star (207 N. 3rd St. 1978-1978)

Honest John's (304 Ogden; 1961-1967)

Big Nickel (400 E. Ogden 1978-1979)

Trolley Stop (3rd & Ogden; 1990-1994)

And then there's bars, hotels, and restaurants that had gambling (slots and/or tables)....

Chatterbox

Golden Camel Bar

Nevada Bar (115 N. 1st St; 1930's-c. 1949)

Esquire Bar

Log Cabin Bar

Kiva Bar

Hotel Golden

Sam's Cafe

And others that may have had chips, or may have been slots only, or I'm not sure where to classify them:

Turf Club & Bar (15 E. Fremont)

Bank Club (17 E. Fremont)

Barrel House Club

Golden West Club (22 E. Fremont; 1956-1958)

21 Club (104 E. Fremont; 1940's) (You've listed a different 21 Club, which was at 22 E. Fremont; 1931-1934)

Zodiac Club (109 E. Fremont; 1957-1958, then was incorporated into the Nevada/Fortune Clubs)

Derby Turf Club (113 S. 3rd St; 1958-1982)

Jackpot Club (116 E. Fremont; 1941-1945)

Bank Club (120 1/2 N. 1st St; 1932-1938)

Exchange Club (123 S. 1st St; 1931-1937)

Western Casino (124 E. Fremont; 1941-1942)

New Western Casino (124 E. Fremont; 1942-closed:yes)

Mission Casino (129 E. Fremont; 1938-1939)

Lucky Lucy's (131 N 3rd St.; 1989-1989)
Miss Lucy's (131 N. 3rd St; 1989-1992)

Hualapai Club (200 E. Fremont; 1950's-1994...I think this was a club of businessmen, who met at the Fremont Casino...doesn't necessarily qualify as a casino, but they had chips)

Barbary Coast Hotel & Casino (202 S. 1st St; 1966-1966)

Foxy Dog (326 E. Fremont; 1964-1975)

And then there's the clubs on Block 16....

Arizona Hotel/Arizona Club (219 N. 1st St; 1906-1940's)

Brown Derby (124 N. 1st St; c. 1920's-c1929)

LaSalle Club (124 N. 1st St.; 1920's - c. 1936)

Tivoli Bar (126 N. 1st St.; 1930's)

Double O Club (O.O. Club)

Good luck with your project...and please double-check the info above for typos, before you use it! grin

Oh...and a couple of bits of information that you were missing (or had possible typos...or were different from what my records show)...

La Bayou opened in 1999

Mermaids opened in 1999

Sassy Sally's Closed in 1999 (became Mermaids)

The Mint opened in 1957

Silver Club opened in 1932 (Joe Morgan owned it 1932-1934, per TGT)

Apparently ther were 3 different Cinnabars!: 105 S. 1st St, c.1946-c.1948; 111 E. Ogden 1959-1965; and the one you listed which was at 122 N 2nd from 1951-1959...

I'm looking forward to seeing your project unfold... grin
