First of all, on behalf of the entire BoD, we’d like to thank Jim Follis for taking over the 2013 calendar duties last year. It’s a very time consuming endeavor, but one that is very important to the for both raising funds AND for exposing our hobby to those around us and we appreciate the time & effort expended by Mr. Follis.
And with that in mind, we are kicking off the 2014 Collectibles Calendar campaign!! For those of you that have participated in this great activity in the past, we hope that we can count on your again this year to help make this fund raiser both fun & a club success. For those newer members that don’t know what this calendar is about, here’s how it goes:
You contact me to reserve a date (or two…) on the calendar. Each calendar date is for $10. I’ll check to see if it’s available and if it is, I will reserve it (them) for you. You would then send me a scan of your favorite chip or any GAMING chip(s) that you’d like to have featured on that (those) date(s). The cost to purchase a calendar is tentatively $18 each (which includes shipping) and features some great gaming history insights & artifacts courtesy of our wonderful club members.
Please notify me at Membership@ccgtcc.com if you’d like to “buy a date”. As we have done in the past, dates reserved by members on previous calendars get first choice. I will be contacting those members to see if they’d like to reserve the same date(s). If those members don’t respond by the end of June, those dates get released. And we’d like to have as many members participate as possible, so if you’d like to reserve additional dates, let’s wait to see if some new participants need those dates first. Sound fair?
For those that do join in on the fun, we need your scans and payment by the end of September (PLENTY of time ) so that the calendars can be mailed out early to mid-November…and you can have them for the holiday season .
Also – if you have any ideas of what you’d like to see featured on the “title” page of each month, please forward those as well. If you’d like to buy a particular month’s “title” page, you can do that as well ($300). Or you can also buy a banner ad that runs at the bottom of a month for $70. This is a GREAT way to share your love of gaming history & memorabilia and expose others to your hobby. There’s info about the calendar in the upcoming Casino Collectibles magazine (that should be hitting your mailbox soon).
Thanks again to all & thanks again to Mr. Follis for his great job last year.
