Hi Spraggie!
The purpose of the chip is as follows:
All players at a Station casino poker table were given the chip to help establish they were entitled to a players share of the "Jumbo Jackpot" when it hit at any Station Casino. For example, if I were playing at Boulder and the jackpot hit at Red Rock and it was determined the players share was say $2,459. I would be given the chip to help determine I was entitled to the $2,459 share. Sometimes it took" forever" to be paid and those players who had to leave would also be given the chip to help determine their identity and that they were entitled to a players share.
When the poker room at the Fiesta Rancho closed Don Covello and I were there. The casino floor person also in charge of poker gave Don and me one each of the Fiesta Rancho chip as a souvenir. All Station Casinos had a box of chips with their specific name on the chip. At one time I had Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, Palace Station, and Boulder Station. When I disposed of my NCV collection they went with it.
Hope this helps. Happy New Year my friend!
