Today after nearly 2 months of planning we were going to commence destroying around 48,000 chips. We were going to do this on property, the vendor arrived on property and the equipment was not working properly destroy the chips. So we had to cancel the operation.
I had planned to take photos and document the destruction process and share with everyone. We will most likely reschedule the destruction after the first of the year. I still intend to document the destruction and share when we get the next green light.
The chips are being destroyed because we no longer have as many table games (as we did in 2002) and we are moving from a riverboat to a new casino which will be a remodel of our convention center scheduled to open in May/June 2013. We won't have as much space and there is also a possibility that we will be getting a new rack of chips with the newer logo (Just got the pricing from GPI on Monday).
However I did take a few photos to share before we shut down the operation. Enjoy
We verified chips with the state present and filled 12 body bags (very large deposit bags) with 4000 chips each.
