Sadly, John, I must disagree with your hope, although I pray you are right. Beyond locking ourselves in behind steel doors; requiring all citizens to be subject to airport type searches in order to enter any public building; prohibiting citizens from possessing any fire arm, we will never escape these tragedies. Like all of us I am deeply shocked and saddened about the killings; abou8t the agonies suffered by the families of the victim and of the killer; about the horror felt by all involved. But as much as I wish we were on the road to stopping these kinds of killings I fear they will continue. Terrorists and the emotionally enraged people will haunt us long into our future. It is, unfortunately, the a terrible price we pay as a free nation.
