If Wal-Mart can't provide the service to transfer your contacts at their store, to their phones, on their service, then that is very telling about what you can expect from them for getting you to switch providers!

Now, to your problem... Have you tried to "export" the contacts? On my Samsung, I select the "contacts" icon, then the 'menu' icon and then select the 'Import/Export' action. This allows me to "share" or "export to storage". If exporting it tells you name of the file (which ends with .vcf). That file is then stored on your phones storage device (SD card) which can be put into another phone and searched and transfered (copied) to tyhe other phone, or, put the SD card into a reader on your computer, search for the .vcf file and copy to your computer. Then, connect your phone with a USB cable to the computer and use the "Import" side of "Export/Input" to find and use the .vcf file.

But the simple way is to make it Wal-Marts problem for getting a new customer.
