wanted Opinions on some Caribbean & PR chips

I bought a lot of chips & amongst them were the PR & Caribbean chips shown below. Unfortunately when I received the chips the side that wasn't shown to me in photos was the side that had lacquer on it. The seller of the lot showed me photos with the best sides up (lacquer side down) sad Grrr!

It seems these chips have been stuck to a timber veneer with some sort of adhesive & then lacquered over. The chips then appear to have been scraped off the veneer with some showing nicks to their good side from this process. (The reason I know it was veneer is because it remained stuck to some tokens also included in the lot)

Anyway, I was pretty happy that I'd found what seemed to be some harder to get Caribbean chips, needless to say a little dissapointed when they arrived. I have not bothered with the hassle of dealing with the seller for a refund as I picked up the rare Claridge Hi Ho $2.50 in the lot & that chip made it worthwhile anyway.

So...here's the deal. These chips have now been sitting on my desk for alomst a month as I can't decide what to do with them. I collect pretty much everything so these fit into my range & I don't have any of those shown in my collection. I am not obesessed with Caribbean or PR chips so if I didn't have them I wouldn't be devastated.

The thing is I clean my chips (I can see Gene cringing from 3000kms away) and I really don't like dirty chips. The issue is I can't clean these because only one side would be clean, the other side lacquered over forever.

So what would you do?

a) keep the chips in your collection as is and maybe one day you'll find upgrades (although with a few of them I think highly unlikely)
b) sell 'em and recoup some of the cash from the purchase?

Cheers, Tim.

*Some of the chips on the side that was stuck down have nicks & inlay damage. The side that was face up it in good condition but lacquered over. Seriously, this should be an offence that requires at minimum 100 hours community service in the chip hobby!
