Didn't see this posted anywhere on The Chipboard which kind of surprised me. On October 26th Hilton Worldwide and Tropicana Las Vegas announced that the Tropicana on the Las Vegas Strip will become a franchisee of Hilton's Doubletree brand. The property will continue to be owned by Alex Yemenidjian and his business partners but will connect its reservation system to Hilton's online and telephone reservation network and use the DoubleTree name, logo etc... The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
I never thought that any of the current and former Tropicana properties would ever re-affiliate themselves with a hotel brand after being spun off by Ramada back in the 80s.
