While loading groceries in the trunk of my car a man offered to return my cart to the store. He was in a wheel chair and instead of taking the cart (first red flag) asked if I would buy him something to eat. Claimed he had not eaten all day. I told him I would not give him money but would buy him lunch. There were several places to eat nearby and he asked if he could eat at the Black Eyed Pea. (2nd red flag)I agreed and told him I would meet him there, just a short distance from where we were. As we entered he said he would order it to go. (3rd RED FLAG) I told him no he would eat it in the cafe. He agreed and ordered Roast Beef and a couple of the sides. Making it easy on me he ordered water to drink. I stayed till he was served and he began to eat. I had other things I needed to do so went to my car but drove back by the cafe. Just as I passed by the front door he came rolling out. Not nearly enough time to have eaten the meal.

I went into the cafe and questioned them about the deal. They offered to refund my money (Credit Card) and admitted that he had been in before and usually ordered his food to go. Don't know what he does with the food when he gets it to go but am sure he does not eat it. You just can't trust people. I have bought food for people who were down on there luck before but think I have never been taken like I was this time. Don't know if I am madder at him for the scam or myself for falling for it. In the future will only direct them to a church that provides food for the homeless.

You just can't be nice to some people.

ALERT; If you get in your car and start to back up then notice a piece of paper in the middle of your rear window just drive off.

DO NOT GO TO THE BACK OF YOUR CAR TO REMOVE THE PAPER. Remove it later. This is a new method car jackers are using to steal cars and if female the theif then most likely has her purse with credit cards, home address, keys to the house and probably plenty of time to get anything he wants from the house.
