I got my V500 from the Epson store 2-3 years ago and I can recommend it. I don't see this model refurb in their store any more.
Here is one now on ebay:
used, with all accessories, in original box, and "from a smoke free home"

I don't know the seller, but price is now only at $85. shipping is $22.
